After installing WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.8:
WhatsApp is releasing rich link previews for text status updates
As you can see in the following two screenshots Old & New. In old screenshot if you type any social link in text editor you can see the preview under text but in New Screenshot if you type any social link or paste any social or web or YouTube video link you can see the new preview before the text or at the top this is called rich link preview.
